Scotland under-19 claimed a win and a defeat in their friendly double header with Finland this week.
The first of the matches went the way of the hosts who won 1-0 thanks to a late goal, but Scotland exacted revenge in the return game with a 3-1 victory at the Eerikkila Sports Institute.
It was Finland who took an early lead in the match scoring through their midfielder, Anna Westerlund, whose 12th minute header beat Khym Ramsay in the Scotland goal. However it wasn't long before Scotland replied with Ruesha Littlejohn's 25-yard strike drawing the teams level a minute later.
Scotland continued to dominate the game and it was substitute Jane Ross who scored Scotland's other goals after being on the pitch for just over ten minutes. Her first was an excellent goal on 61 minutes after some good build up play by the Scots, which saw Ross in position to sidefoot the ball into the net. Ross completed the scoring three minutes later when her shot from a wide area flew past the outstretched Finnish keeper to end the contest.
This was the final preparation for the Scots who fly out later this month to participate in the second phase of the UEFA Under-19 Championships in Switzerland, against the hosts, Belarus and Denmark.
After the match, Head Coach Ritchie Wilson told www.scottishfa.co.uk: "I am really delighted by the performance of all the players tonight. It was really great to see the team play so well and be mentally strong, having lost to a really poor goal we conceded to Finland the night before. This has been great preparation for our trip to Switzerland, we can look forward with some optimism."
Scotland under-19: Kyhm Ramsay, Kirsty Hamilton, Nicole Murray (sub Jennifer King 69), Stacey Williamson, Rachel Corsie, Lauren McMillan, Leanne Reid, Cathrena Gallacher (sub Jane Ross 53), Hayley Lauder (sub Nicole Murray 83), Ruesha Littlejohn, Cheryl McCulloch.
