We can go all the way - Zoe

We can go all the way - Zoe - 25 Aug 2006 - Women's Football NewsPortsmouth sounded a warning to their rivals in the Southern Division that they are likely to be among the challengers once again, by beating Brighton & Hove Albion 6-1 in their first match.
Young striker Zoe Nash added to her growing reputation by scoring twice in the victory and she told Women's Soccer Scene that the result reflected a great start. "We played really well," says Zoe. "Everyone played well on the day. Five different players got on the scoresheet and we were all pleased with the win."
Zoe scored the first two goals in the game, to set the ball rolling for Pompey. "It was nice to get off the mark in the first match," she says. "I scored 15 last season and my aim is to try and beat that this time around."
After two unsuccessful title attempts in the last two seasons, Zoe is quietly confident that it can be third time lucky for her side. "We can go all the way this year," she insists. "We lost it last year after having a great chance, but I think we have learned the lessons from last season.
"We have signed two good players, goalkeeper Roxy Roberts from Southampton Saints and Lizzie Laws (from AFC Wimbledon). I also think that players like Laura Froggatt, Brooke Chaplen and Katie Holmes are getting better all the time and will be important players for us. Bristol City and Watford should be up there as well but we have a great chance."
Pompey take a break from league action this week as they must play Crystal Palace in the Premier League Cup. "If we can beat them, we would play Everton in the next round," says Zoe, "so that is a big incentive to win."
